Battle of the Bands is a thrilling competition where aspiring musicians perform a song written by the talented William Wolf.
Participants have a chance to win amazing prizes and showcase their skills on stage at the Rocking the Vaal festival.
how to enter
Record a video audition showcasing your band’s best performance of our theme song “Rocking the Vaal”.
Be creative with your entry, showcase your unique flavour, style and genre in your video. The videos will be judged on musicality, creativity, vibe and social media effort.
Post the video on social media (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok) and tag @Vonkmusiek, @RockingTheVaal, @Emerald Resort Casino @GTCOC, @itswilliamwolf and @Tixsa.
Motivate your fans, friends and family to like, share and comment on your post. This will count for a small percentage during judging.
Entry Requirements
The video must include at least the first verse and chorus.
Bands of any age, genre, style and language can enter the competition.

Audition Deadline: March 1, 2025
The battle is on, so don’t wait—get your audition video in before it’s too late!
Once your audition videos are judged, you will stand a chance to be invited to one of our battle rounds.

- Participants must be 18 years or older to enter.
- The competition is not open to directors, members, partners, employees, agents, consultants, or anyone directly or indirectly affiliated with the organizers, Sleepwa Parte and Emerald Resort, or their immediate family members, life partners, or business partners.
- To enter, participants must:

- Winners will be selected by a panel of professional judges after 1 March 2025 and contacted for performances at Emerald Resort and Casino. Bands must be available on the determined dates. If the band is unavailable, they
